Workflow

Connhex Device Ownership integrates an internal workflow to ensure efficient device association and resource management.

Verification of Device Existence

The service interfaces with Connhex Manufacturing to validate the existence of the specified device. This step ensures that the device being associated is legitimately registered within the system.

Protected Association Check

If the protected association feature is enabled, the service checks whether the extra security condition is satisfied. For example, the default verification step involves the interaction with Connhex Cloud to verify whether the device has sent the registration enable message.

Checking Existing Associations

One-to-one only

This check is only performed in case of a one-to-one association.

Connhex Device Ownership interacts with Connhex Resources to determine if the device has already been associated with a user. This check prevents multiple users from claiming ownership of the same device, ensuring data integrity and user accountability.

Creation of Associated Resource

The service interfaces with Connhex Resources to create a new resource associated to the user making the request.

By leveraging the user's information and Connhex IAM, the service establishes a connection between the user and the associated resource, providing seamless access and ownership management.
